Solitons, boomerons and isochronous solutions to nonlinear systems
Workshop for Francesco Calogero 70th
birthday
February 4th - February 6th 2005, Rome
Organizing Committee: D. Levi,
M.Lusignoli, O.Ragnisco, P.M.Santini
Supporting Institution: Istituto Nazionale
di Fisica Nucleare
The workshop will focus on
some specific aspects of modern theory of nonlinear integrable and
non-integrable systems, where the contributions by F. Calogero have been
specially relevant. Accordingly, emphasis will be put on analytic solutions of integrable
evolution equations, as Solitons and Boomerons, and on nonintegrable systems,
both finite- and infinite-dimensional, exhibiting large families of periodic
solutions, as well as on the presentation of the most recent results in the
theory of integrable many body problems.
The workshop will deal with
the following topics:
·
Solitons and Inverse Scattering Transform,
continuous and discrete
·
Solitons and differential geometry
·
Boomerons for matrix evolution equations
·
Isochronous solutions to dynamical systems
·
Classical and Quantum Integrable many body problems
·
Cellular Automata, nonlinear maps and Algebraic
Entropy
·
Applicable nonlinear equations
